In Early 2018, a heart condition benched me during my high school baseball season. Having lost my ability to participate on the field, I elected to help the team from the sidelines with my camera. As I grew in love with image making and storytelling; I began making narrative short films with friends in High School. As I progressed, my films began to screen at student film competitions, winning awards at local and national levels. When my high school came years to a close, it became time to look beyond the limits of the nonexistent Maryland film industry and move West to film's capital. As a film student in LA during Covid, my classmates and I found ways to continually and safely make films as we studied. As the pandemic slowly came to a close, we continued making films on larger and larger scales which steadily grew my portfolio and catalogue of connections. My most recent film, a comedy, premiered at Dances with Films in New York, expanding my network and further motivating me to reach audiences and entertain.
Paul’s short films have received multiple selections, nominations and awards such as BEST STUDENT HORROR at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards.
