MEET THE CONQUEROR
Played by Violette Remington, the conqueror is history’s next great tryrant. Though she’s starting small, it’s only a matter of time til nations bow before her.
MEET DAVE
Played by Xavier Orozco, Dave is a young cop doing his best. You’ve gotta commend him for his spirit, though I wouldn’t count on him without his partner.
MEET PETE
Played by Charles Santa Cruz, Pete is the cop who gets things done. If you’re in the way, he moves you. There is no pushing around Pete… none…
For some time, I had wanted to create a film exploring the concept of borders and the abstractions which deem them legitimate. In my mind, all borders start with the statement: "This land is mine, not yours, and here's a paper I signed saying so." What really makes one person's claim more valid than another's? Who's to say staking 20 square feet in a public park is an illegitimate act of soveriegnty? Though I had these ideas, I didn't have a character to fit the concept. It started coming together when Violette Rain pitched me her own original character, "The Conquerer." I instantly felt it was exactly the kind of wacky lead the film needed. This film was a student production with the assistance of alumni currently working in the film industry. I hope you enjoy our short.
